Nightmare Vs. Zero Suit Samus (B/W contest entry)

This is an entry for a contest held by a DA Metroid club. I meant to get started on this way sooner, but time got away from me. Anyway...

This is a digital piece that I started as a very barebones physical sketch. I know that the Nightmare enemy is from Metroid Fusion (And I think Other M?) but I felt like trying to do a Zero Suit version of Samus for a little bit of a change. It's fun to draw with all the lines and the geometric shapes and such. 
I always liked the Nightmare monster from when I played Fusion. It was cool to see a new enemy in a 2D Metroid game at the time, and the design really appealed to me. You don't know much about the creature in that game, but its faceplate, face, and overall design make it seem less like an evil being, and more like something that just exists in ceaseless agony. Like some more or less failed military experiment.
The background took a long time to do, and it could probably use more work to be honest. I'm pretty happy with how it came out though. I kind of took some liberty with the setting. It's supposed to be a sort of generic Space-age-technological-room or lab or something, but the technology isn't actually very futuristic. It's all big computers and CRT monitors and stuff x3 I like drawing that kind of stuff. 
I tried to give the characters a more crisp, shiny look while darkening the background and lowering the contrast to make Nightmare and Samus pop a little.
